The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI), a self-regulatory organization of insurers, was established on 8 August 1988.  With the mission to advance and promote the development of the insurance business in Hong Kong, it enjoys full recognition by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.  The HKFI maintains frequent dialogue with the Commissioner of Insurance on legislative issues affecting the industry. It also actively promotes and perfects its self-regulatory regime, with an aim of improving the professionalism and strengthening public confidence in the insurance industry.
